Juan Manuel Garrido

Founding partner of the firm in 2002, currently heads the litigation and alternative dispute resolution practice area.
He was director of the litigation and arbitration department at Baker Mackenzie (1987 - 2000), Advisor, consultant and special focus in energy issues, infrastructure projects, oil, mining, gas, litigation, national and international arbitration, private contracting, construction, natural resources and environment, and class actions.
He has more than 35 years experience and has participated in more than 120 arbitrations, which has given him the expertise to advise companies in different sectors of the economy.
He is a member of the Arbitration Panel of the Arbitration and Conciliation Center of the Chamber of Commerce of Bogota and the Inter-American Commercial Arbitration Commission (CIAC). Juan Manuel is a Tenured Lecturer at the Universidad del Rosario and Universidad Externado de Colombia on energy law and speaker in the National and International Arbitration Diploma and in the Course for Secretaries of Arbitration Courts organized by the Chamber of Commerce of Bogota.
He has a law degree from the Universidad Colegio Mayor de Nuestra Señora del Rosario (1978).

With more than 18 years of experience in the legal practice, Claudia is an expert in advising domestic and foreign clients in the areas of infrastructure, oil and gas, energy and natural resources, having advised more than 50 companies in strategic issues of their business and operations.
She has a law degree from Universidad de los Andes (2002) and a post graduate studies in International Business with emphasis in Capital Markets and Investment Banking from the School of Government, Finance and International Relations of Universidad Externado de Colombia, in a joint program with the "School of International and Public Affairs (SIPA)" of Columbia University in New York (2004).

He has more than 30 years of professional experience and is an expert in corporate matters focused on contract management, mergers and acquisitions and joint ventures.
Previously, he served as general counsel of different important multinational companies in the energy, oil and gas industry.
He actively participated in the negotiation of more than 20 Joint Operating Agreements and more than 15 Oil Exploration contracts, being a key player in conflict resolution between companies and communities.
As Legal Vice-president of a gas transportation company, he had the opportunity to gain further experience in gas, transportation and supply issues.
He is currently an Arbitrator of the Chamber of Commerce of Bogota.
He has a Law Degree from Universidad de los Andes (1986), a post graduate studies in Administrative Law from Universidad del Rosario (1988), and Commercial Law from Universidad de los Andes (1990). Cristian Felipe has more than 8 years of experience in the judicial sector, where he served as a Civil Judge, Professional Grade 33 of the Supreme Court of Justice - Chamber of Civil Cassation, Counselor and Assistant to the Magistrate of the Superior Court of Bogota - Civil Chamber and Senior Officer of the Civil Circuit Court of Bogota.
He worked in the Special Administrative Unit of Management of Restitution of Lands, defending the entity judicially and extra-judicially and providing advice and monitoring to the territorial entities.
He is currently an active member of the Colombian Institute of Procedural Law (ICDP) and a university professor.
